Facchini Cecilia Testa Corruption and Bicameral Reforms
During the last decade unicameral proposals have been put forward in fourteen US states. In this paper we analyze the effects of the proposed constitutional reforms, in a setting where decision making is subject to ‘hard time constraints’, and lawmakers face the opposing interests of a lobby and the electorate. We show that bicameralism might lead to a decline in the lawmakers’ bargaining power...
متن کاملNLN Jeffries Simulation Theory: Brief Narrative Description.
Based on the thorough synthesis of the literature by Adamson (see page 282) and discussion among simulation researchers and leaders, the NLN Jeffries Simulation Framework (2005, 2007, 2012) is now referred to as the NLN Jeffries Simulation Theory with a few minor changes within the conceptual illustration. The concepts of this theory are briefly described below to provide more clarity and to ex...

We study topological defects arising in the Grand Unification Model SU (6) L ⊗SU (6) c ⊗SU (6) R ×Z 3. We show that the model does not contain domain walls, while it produces massive magnetic monopoles and it may, depending on the symmetry breaking chain, give rise to the formation of strings. We also discuss their possible relation with the origin of the highest energy cosmic rays detected.
متن کاملNote on utilisation of peanut seed testa
Peanut testae (skins, seed coats) are an extremely low value by-product of peanut-blanching operations. Their commercial value is $12–20 per ton and their limited use is only as a minor component of cattle feed. Based on world in-shell peanut production of 29.1 million tons in 1999/2000 and an average skin content of 2.6%, world production of peanut skins can be estimated at over 750 000 tons a...

JORDAN, M. S. & W. J. HAYDEN (1992). A Survey of Mucilaginous Testa in Chamaesyce. Collect. Bot. (Barcelona) 21 :79-89. Seeds of Chamaesyce were studied for presence of mucilaginous testa. Samples were selected to represent all major systematic sections within the genus. Observations were made with a dissecting microscope following brief hydration of seeds; additional SEM observations of both i...
